Advances in Psychological and Neuropsychological Testing: From Psychometric Refinement to Clinical Application - Volume III

Neuropsychological assessment remains a fundamental component in both clinical contexts and research within psychology and neuroscience. Traditional testing procedures, while foundational, should be psychometrically investigated to assess their metrical properties and relevance in contemporary practice. As a result of redesigned procedures, established tests can be improved in terms of their psychometric characteristicsAt the same time, the field of neuropsychological testing continues to evolve through the development of new research instruments that can strengthen clinical practice, improve psychometric performance, and advance the theories behind testing in a circular way.This Research Topic represents the third volume in the Neuropsychological Testing: From Psychometrics to Clinical Neuropsychology collection series, following Volume I and Volume II, and aims to bring together recent advances spanning traditional diagnostic methods and more recent procedures and approaches in cognitive and neuropsychological testing.We welcome contributions on (including, but not limited to):• Applications• Comparisons• Novel definitions and measures• Updated procedures and psychometric properties of existing instruments• Measurement invariance• Reliability• Repeatability• Specific norms• Clinical use in specific patient populationsOpen-access tests, methods, and procedures are encouraged, together with studies aligned with the Open Science initiative. This topic joins two complementary backgrounds (psychometrics and neuropsychology), and we will consider original studies as well as reviews and meta-analyses. Studies on questionnaires targeted to neuropsychological patients are also welcome.In this new volume, in light of recent technological advances, we also welcome novel approaches based on digital tools and innovative AI-driven methodologies, further enhancing the scope and contemporary relevance of the topic.
