Advances in Sustainable Chemical Engineering, Energy and Environment
This Research Topic originates from the “2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development in Chemical Engineering, Energy and Environment (SDCEE-2027)”, organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, India. The Research Topic focuses on the overarching theme “Advances in Sustainable Chemical Engineering, Energy and Environment”, highlighting recent advances in the development, characterization, and application of innovative materials and catalytic systems for addressing emerging challenges in chemical engineering, energy, and environmental sustainability. This Research Topic focuses on recent advances in sustainable chemical engineering, energy, and environmental technologies aimed at addressing global challenges related to resource efficiency, clean energy, environmental protection, and industrial sustainability. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, advanced materials, nanomaterials, catalytic processes (heterogeneous, homogeneous, photo-, electro-, and biocatalysis), membrane and adsorption technologies, carbon-based materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), covalent organic frameworks (COFs), functional polymers, nanocomposites, and other innovative materials and processes for sustainable applications.Contributions addressing CO₂ capture, utilization and conversion, hydrogen and clean-fuel production, renewable energy systems, energy storage, biomass and waste valorization, water and wastewater treatment, pollutant remediation, resource recovery, circular economy approaches, and industrial decarbonization are particularly encouraged. The Research Topic welcomes both fundamental and applied research that advances sustainable solutions at the interface of chemical engineering, energy, and environmental systems. The Research Topic seeks to bring together fundamental research, applied studies, and emerging technologies that contribute to the transition toward low-carbon, resource-efficient, circular, and sustainable chemical engineering systems. We welcome original research articles, review articles, perspectives, and critical mini-reviews that provide significant scientific insights and demonstrate potential for real-world implementation.Topic Editor Dr. Prhashanna Ammu is affiliated to Standard Industries as Director.
