Advances in the Pathogenesis and Therapeutic Strategies for Gynecological Cancers Related to Endometriosis
The oncogenesis of endometriosis-associated gynecologic malignancies is a complex, multistep process involving multiple risk factors, disease stages, and molecular mechanisms. It may involve a range of precancerous lesions and the activation of multiple signaling pathways. In addition, microenvironmental alterations may generate a complex, synergistic signaling network that promotes tumorigenesis, tumor growth, and metastasis. Endometriosis-associated gynecologic malignancies may share common mechanisms of initiation and progression. Due to the relative rarity of these tumors, further data and evidence are needed to explore and validate their potential molecular pathogenesis in depth, thereby laying the foundation for the development of therapeutic strategies and precision treatment. This Research Topic aims to generate high-quality evidence on the pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies for gynecological cancers related to endometriosis. Contributions are encouraged that will deepen our understanding of risk stratification, identify actionable molecular targets, and explore innovative clinical interventions. By advancing knowledge in these areas, this collection seeks to establish a more robust foundation for the development of effective, individualized, and precision-based management of endometriosis-associated gynecological malignancies, as well as guide potential updates to clinical practice and staging. To gather further insights into the biological and clinical landscape of endometriosis-associated gynecological cancers, we welcome articles focused on the key boundaries of pathogenesis, molecular profiling, clinical management, and therapeutic innovation. Submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following themes are particularly encouraged:1. Pathogenesis of gynecological cancers related to endometriosis2. Genomic studies of gynecological cancers related to endometriosis3. Prognostic and/or predictive factors for gynecological cancers related to endometriosis4. Improvements of AJCC/UICC clinical staging for gynecological cancers related to endometriosis5. Applications of artificial intelligence in gynecological cancers related to endometriosis6. Combined chemotherapy, physicotherapeutics and endocrine therapy strategies in gynecological cancers related to endometriosis7. Tailoring immunotherapy for gynecological cancers related to endometriosisPlease note: Manuscripts consisting solely of bioinformatics, computational analysis, or predictions of public databases which are not accompanied by validation (independent clinical or patient cohort, or biological validation in vitro or in vivo, which are not based on public databases) are not suitable for publication in this journal.
