Bridging Knowledge Gaps in Diabetic Kidney Disease Care

Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) remains one of the most prevalent and challenging microvascular complications of diabetes, contributing substantially to morbidity and healthcare burden worldwide. Despite significant progress in diabetes management, the mechanisms underlying DKD progression and the translation of emerging evidence into daily clinical practice remain incomplete. There is an urgent need to identify knowledge gaps across the spectrum of prediction, diagnosis, and management to reduce the global burden of diabetic nephropathy.The goal of this Research Topic is to bring together multidisciplinary expertise to identify, analyze, and address the unmet needs in diabetic kidney disease care. We aim to highlight studies that improve the understanding of DKD pathophysiology, optimize early detection, and promote innovative therapeutic and preventive approaches that can be translated into clinical practice.This Research Topic welcomes clinical, translational, and basic research studies that contribute to improving patient outcomes in diabetic kidney disease.
