Bridging Knowledge to Action in Vitamin D Supplementation Volume II

We are delighted to share a volume II of the previously successful Research Topic ''Bridging knowledge to action in vitamin D supplementation Volume II''.Vitamin D plays a critical role in various aspects of health, influencing everything from bone strength to immune system function, as well as impacting mental health and cognitive performance. Despite its significance, the effective application of vitamin D knowledge into everyday health practices involves informed decisions, personalized health strategies, and an integration of supplements into a broader healthy lifestyle. While supplements offer numerous benefits, especially in addressing specific health conditions such as osteoporosis and mood disorders, they also present risks like overconsumption and interactions with other medications. A better understanding of these dynamics can guide safer and more effective supplementation practices. This Research Topic aims to deepen the understanding of vitamin D, highlight evidence-based approaches for supplement use, and explore practical strategies for integrating vitamin D into daily health routines. Given vitamin D’s crucial roles in bone health, immune function, and chronic disease prevention, and its capability to influence mood and mental wellbeing, it is vital to promote balanced consumption to prevent both deficiency and overdose consequences. To gather further insights into balanced approaches to vitamin supplementation, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:• Current knowledge on the role of vitamin D in public health• Strategies for transitioning from knowledge to practical application• The influence of healthcare providers in vitamin supplement integration• Public health campaigns and their impact on vitamin D awareness• Innovations in supplement delivery systems and their efficacyPlease view our first volume here: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/66189/bridging-knowledge-to-action-in-vitamin-d-supplementation Topic editors: Manuela Chiavarini, Irene Giacchetta, Roberto Fabiani Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/84178/bridging-knowledge-to-action-in-vitamin-d-supplementation-volume-ii
