Case Reports in General Cardiovascular Medicine: 2026

This Research Topic is the fourth volume of "Case Reports in General Cardiovascular Medicine". General cardiovascular medicine is a dynamic and evolving field that encompasses a wide range of conditions, treatments, and patient outcomes. Despite significant advancements in diagnostic techniques and therapeutic interventions, there remain numerous challenges and unanswered questions in the management of cardiovascular diseases. Recent studies have highlighted the importance of personalized medicine and the need for more detailed case reports to understand the variability in patient responses to treatments. However, there is a noticeable gap in the literature regarding rare diseases with typical features, frequent diseases with atypical features, and cases demonstrating a convincing response to new treatments. Addressing these gaps through detailed case reports can provide valuable insights and contribute to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine. This research topic aims to collect and disseminate case reports that significantly advance the field of structural interventional cardiology. The primary objective is to highlight unique patient cases that present with unexpected diagnoses, treatment outcomes, or clinical courses. By focusing on single clinical cases/case series, this collection seeks to answer critical questions and test hypotheses related to patient variability and treatment efficacy. The goal is to provide a platform for sharing novel insights and fostering a deeper understanding of cardiovascular conditions and their management. To gather further insights in the realm of structural interventional cardiology, we welcome case reports addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:- Rare diseases with typical features- Frequent diseases with atypical features- Cases demonstrating a convincing response to new treatments- Diagnostic challenges and innovative solutions- Long-term outcomes and follow-up of interventional procedures- Patient perspectives and quality of life post-intervention- Comparative analysis of different therapeutic approaches- Integration of new technologies in cardiovascular interventionsBy focusing on these themes, we aim to compile a comprehensive collection of case reports/case series that will serve as a valuable resource for clinicians, researchers, and educators in the field of cardiovascular medicine.
