Clinical Neuroinformatics: AI-Powered Precision Medicine for the Brain

In the realm of clinical neuroinformatics, the incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) stands at the forefront of transforming precision medicine for brain disorders. The convergence of AI with neuroinformatics aims to interweave neuroimaging, genetics, and clinical data, offering unprecedented opportunities to refine diagnosis, improve prognosis, and tailor personalized treatment strategies. Despite significant technological advancements, the field still faces challenges such as data integration complexities and the need for interpretable AI models. Ongoing debates center around balancing innovation with ethical standards, particularly regarding data privacy and transparency. This Research Topic aims to explore the potential of AI in melding neuroimaging, genetics, and clinical data to enhance medical strategies for brain disorders. We aim to address specific questions such as: How can AI methodologies be optimized for multimodal data integration? What novel biomarkers can be discovered through large-scale cohort analyses? By tackling these questions, this Research Topic strives to identify actionable insights and evidence-based practices that can be translated into clinical use.To gather further insights into AI-powered precision medicine in clinical neuroinformatics, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:- Innovative methods for integrating neuroimaging, genomic, and clinical data for deep phenotyping of neurological and psychiatric conditions.- Exploration of large-scale cohort analyses to identify biomarkers and disease mechanisms in brain disorders.- Development of AI-driven clinical decision support systems in neurology that inform patient-specific treatment pathways.- Approaches to improve the transparency and interpretability of neuroscience-related AI models in clinical settings (Explainable AI).- Addressing the ethical and regulatory considerations vital for the responsible implementation of AI in clinical neuroinformatics.
