Collaborative Transformation of Solid Waste from the Perspective of Circular Economy: Waste Reduction and Full Value Resource Utilization

Under the background of global low-carbon transformation and sustainable development, the large inventory of solid waste and low resource utilization not only cause resource waste, but also bring environmental risks, which restricts the achievement of the "dual carbon" goal. At present, there are problems such as low added value of storage technology, insufficient environmental risk control, and weak coordination of the industrial chain. There is an urgent need for interdisciplinary breakthroughs to promote efficient, high-value, and low-carbon utilization of solid waste, and support circular economy and sustainable development. This Research Topic aims to gather international cutting-edge research and promote the transformation of solid waste resource utilization towards high efficiency, high value, and low-carbon direction. This study focuses on exploring key technological breakthroughs, system coupling models, environmental synergies, and industrialization paths from an interdisciplinary perspective, providing theoretical basis and case references for building a closed-loop of "waste resource products", helping to achieve waste resource utilization, and promoting the development of circular economy. This Research Topic looks forward to receiving original research or commentary articles on "Comprehensive Utilization of Solid Waste and Circular Economy". The scope of submission includes but is not limited to:• Development of Green Building Materials and Functional Materials• Control of harmful element leaching and environmental risk assessment• Ecological restoration and soil improvement technology in mining areas• Collaborative process of carbon capture and resource utilization• Intelligent sorting and efficient activation technology• Design and Policy Mechanism of Circular Economy Industry Chain• Full life cycle environmental impact assessment• Solid waste derived energy and low-carbon conversion pathways• Collaborative utilization and system optimization of multi-source solid waste Topic editors: Zhenshuang Wang, Tengfei Nian, Xiaohua Jin Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/76592/collaborative-transformation-of-solid-waste-from-the-perspective-of-circular-economy-waste-reduction-and-full-value-resource-utilization
