Decoding NRF2-Driven Metabolic Shifts in Cancer Drug Resistance

In the field of cancer research, understanding the cellular machinery involved in malignancy and drug resistance is crucial for developing effective therapies. Recently, the NRF2 signaling pathway has garnered attention for its role in driving metabolic reprogramming in cancer cells and protecting tumor cells from ROS-induced death. Additionally, NRF2 activation can alter the tumor microenvironment, potentially reducing inflammation. Despite extensive research, the intricate processes by which NRF2 influences metabolic pathways and how these pathways enable cancer cells to thrive in hostile environments remain inadequately understood. This Research Topic aims to unravel the mechanisms behind NRF2-driven metabolic shifts that contribute to tumor growth and cancer drug resistance. By focusing on cellular responses, cross-talk between signaling pathways, and regulatory networks, this research seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of how NRF2 engages in to facilitate survival and resistance mechanisms in cancer cells. Insights from this investigation could pave the way for novel therapeutic strategies aimed at improving cancer treatment. To gather further insights in NRF2-driven metabolic shifts within the context of cell signaling, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:1.
