Deep Brain Stimulation think tank: Updates in neurotechnology and neuromodulation, Volume VII
In recent years, numerous developments have taken place in the field of neuromodulation. The introduction of newer technologies, software and increasing understanding of brain physiology in neurological and psychiatric conditions have shaped this rapidly growing field. To create a space where all stakeholders could freely interact to discuss challenges, advancements and opportunities in the field, the first Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Think Tank took place in 2012 in Gainesville Florida at the University of Florida. Since then, the meeting has grown to a hybrid virtual and in person meeting expanding the number of participants to over 200 world experts in the field. The next DBS Think Tank will be taking place September 16–18, 2026, hosted by the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases (UF Health) as a hybrid event. The meeting will bring together leading clinicians, engineers, industry professionals, and researchers to debate and shape the future of neuromodulation technologies, addressing new research, technologies, and neuroethical issues in the field of neuromodulation.Speakers are encouraged to present late-breaking unpublished research. Similarly, we would like to encourage other researchers and clinicians in the field to publish their research as part of this Research Topic dedicated to this rapidly evolving field. Contributions on the following themes are welcome:• Emerging targets in DBS• New methodologies for patient engagement• Implications for neurodegenerative disease modeling and treatment• Sensors and wearable technologies• Cutting edge DBS and neuromodulation research papers• Ethico-legal issues in neuromodulation and DBSDiscussions of DBS Think Tank are summarized in an annual proceeding that is considered a highly influential publication in the field. This Research Topic will include both the summary of the published proceedings, as well as new research contributions from attendees of the meeting.Articles published after the DBS Think Tank meeting 2019 and 2020 were collected in the previous volumes:Deep Brain Stimulation Think Tank: Updates in Neurotechnology and Neuromodulation ResearchDeep Brain Stimulation Think Tank: Updates in Neurotechnology and Neuromodulation, Volume IIDeep Brain Stimulation Think Tank: Updates in Neurotechnology and Neuromodulation, Volume IIIDeep Brain Stimulation Think Tank: Updates in Neurotechnology and Neuromodulation, Volume IVDeep Brain Stimulation Think Tank: Updates in Neurotechnology and Neuromodulation, Volume VDeep Brain Stimulation think tank: Updates in neurotechnology and neuromodulation, Volume VIDo not miss the chance to make your manuscript contribution and showcase your research alongside the research of other outstanding colleagues.
