Periods of fasting present distinct clinical challenges for people living with diabetes, particularly those with type 2 diabetes, where changes in meal timing, medication use, and daily routines can alter glycaemic stability and increase the risk of acute and chronic complications. It aims to bring together evidence that informs practical care strategies, patient preparation, and follow-up, while addressing the broader implications of fasting on diabetes-related outcomes.Themes of interest include, but are not limited to: - Clinical assessment and risk stratification of people with diabetes who undertake fasting- Therapeutic adjustment and monitoring strategies during fasting periods- Short- and longer-term metabolic effects of fasting in people with diabetes- Prevention, identification, and management of fasting-related diabetes complications- Multidisciplinary and real-world care models addressing fasting in clinical practice Topic editors: Sueziani Binte Zainudin, BARAKATUN-NISAK MOHD YUSOF, Rohana Abdul Ghani Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/78176/diabetes-management-during-fasting
