Dynamics and Control of Marine Equipment and Its Key Structural Components
With rapid advances in ocean engineering and the increasing depth and scale of marine resource exploration, the performance requirements for ocean equipment continue to grow. At the same time, the harsh and complex marine environment poses major challenges to the stability, safety, and reliability of such systems. These challenges are closely linked to issues including vibration and noise control, structural dynamic response, and efficient energy utilization. Therefore, investigating the dynamic characteristics and control strategies of marine equipment and its key structural components is essential for advancing ocean engineering technologies and ensuring the safe and reliable operation of marine facilities. This Research Topic aims to address key challenges in the dynamics and control of marine equipment and its critical structural components. Particular attention is given to the mismatch between structural dynamic performance and harsh marine operating conditions, the limited effectiveness of vibration and noise control under complex coupled environments, and the insufficient integration of structural design with energy utilization. By leveraging recent advances in dynamic modeling, simulation, and design, this Topic seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical developments and engineering applications. It aims to promote innovative methods in marine structural dynamics and control, improve the dynamic stability and energy efficiency of ocean equipment, and provide a platform for sharing cutting-edge research that advances the broader field of marine equipment engineering. This Research Topic focuses on the dynamics and control of marine equipment and its key structural components. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:o flow-induced vibration mechanisms and control;o dynamic modeling and optimal design of critical marine structures;o coupling effects between marine energy utilization and structural dynamics;o vibration and noise control of marine equipment, including stealth technologies;o intelligent monitoring, diagnosis, and dynamic analysis of marine structures. We welcome original research articles that present novel theoretical developments, experimental investigations, numerical simulations, or engineering applications that contribute to the advancement of marine equipment dynamics and control.
