Evolving Strategies in Lyme Borreliosis Treatment and Prevention - Volume II
Building on the success of "Evolving Strategies in Lyme Borreliosis Treatment and Prevention", we are pleased to launch this Volume II.Lyme borreliosis and other tick borne diseases represent a growing global public health challenge. These infections arise from a diverse range of bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens, each associated with variable clinical presentations, diagnostic limitations, and treatment complexities. Although effective vaccines exist for some tick borne diseases such as tick borne encephalitis, a vaccine for Lyme borreliosis is still in late stage development, underscoring the need for continued innovation in prevention and management strategies. This Research Topic brings together multidisciplinary perspectives to advance the understanding of Lyme borreliosis and other tick borne diseases across clinical, epidemiological, diagnostic, therapeutic, and public health domains. Areas of interest include improved approaches to diagnosis, evaluation of treatment strategies, insights into disease pathogenesis and epidemiology, development of preventive tools including vaccines, analyses of healthcare utilization and patient experiences, and methodological innovations that support evidence based decision making. By integrating these perspectives, the Topic aims to support more effective diagnostics, treatment strategies, and public health planning. We welcome submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:• Clinical and diagnostic challenges in Lyme borreliosis • Pathogenesis and natural history of tick borne infections • Management of persistent symptoms and post treatment sequelae • Epidemiology of tick borne diseases across different regions • Real world evidence on treatment and prevention strategies • Modelling and cost effectiveness analyses for vaccines and interventions • Public health, patient centred, and healthcare utilization researchThis Research Topic accepts Original Research, Reviews, Clinical Trial Reports, Case Studies, and Systematic Reviews.
