Highlights from the 20th World Congress on Controversies in Neurology
This collection compiles selected output from the 20th World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy), held in Krakow, Poland, from March 26 to 28, 2026. Endorsed by the Polish Neurological Society, the congress aims to highlight current debates and recent advances across the breadth of clinical and translational neurology, and to reflect on unresolved questions that will shape future research and practice.Since 2007, CONy has served as a premier international platform for structured debates on the most pressing and controversial issues in neurology, bridging the gap between expanding scientific knowledge and its application in clinical settings. This Research Topic showcases advances spanning dementia and neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease; cerebrovascular disease and stroke; epilepsy; multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology; headache and neurogenic pain; motor neuron disease; sleep disorders; and movement disorders. We particularly welcome contributions that address diagnostic controversies, conflicting evidence on therapeutic strategies, emerging biomarkers, and the role of artificial intelligence and digital health technologies in neurological practice, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being).
