Horizons in Communications and Networks: Volume II
We are delighted to present the “Horizons in Communications and Networks: Volume II” article collection. Building on the success of our inaugural collection, this collection continues this initiative with a special focus on high-impact technical and review articles that address key topics at the forefront of communications and networks. In this Research Topic, invited contributions from world-class experts in communications and networks provide forward-looking perspectives on the future of the field. With the standardization of fifth-generation (5G) communications now complete and deployments advancing worldwide, the focus has shifted to visioning and planning for beyond 5G (B5G) and sixth-generation (6G) systems. These next-generation networks aim to meet the communication demands of the 2030s. Together, these articles serve as a research guide for the post-5G era. They present recent research results and advancements, explore potential application scenarios, and discuss the defining features and enabling communication and signal processing technologies of the future. In addition, they consider broader challenges beyond core technologies, that may influence research directions and future deployment. All contributing authors were nominated by the Chief Editors of the journal in recognition of their prominence and influence in the field. The cutting-edge work presented in this collection reflects the breadth and diversity of research across communications and networks. This is an invitation-only collection, and new articles will be added as they are published.View the inaugural Horizons research topic here : Horizons in Communications and Networks Topic editors: Ioannis Krikidis, Daniel Benevides Da Costa, Mehdi Bennis, Hong-Chuan Yang, Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou, Charith Perera, Anna Maria Vegni, Muhammad Ali Imran, Neelesh Mehta Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/78095/horizons-in-communications-and-networks-volume-ii
