Innovations in Congenital Heart Disease: Cutting-Edge Approaches to Diagnoses and Management
Congenital heart disease (CHD) remains the most common congenital disorder, encompassing a wide range of structural heart abnormalities present at birth. Thanks to recent advances, early detection and more precise diagnosis are becoming increasingly possible, transforming the way clinicians approach CHD. Innovations such as multi-modality imaging, genetic testing, cardiac catheterization, and the application of artificial intelligence offer new opportunities for accurate diagnosis and targeted treatment. As a result, the outlook for individuals with CHD has greatly improved, and many are now enjoying healthier and longer lives. This special issue invites the research and clinical community to share their latest findings, approaches, and insights regarding CHD. Our goal is to showcase how pioneering diagnostic and management techniques are shaping the future of care for patients from fetus to adulthood. We are especially interested in work that explores:• New imaging modalities• Novel genetic tests• Minimally invasive and catheter-based procedures• Improved surgical methods • Innovative pharmacological treatments• The impact of artificial intelligence on clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.Potential authors are encouraged to share original research, clinical studies, reviews, and perspectives. In addition to technical innovations, we welcome articles focusing on patient quality of life, long-term care, palliative care, and preventive strategies. We hope this collection will serve as a comprehensive resource for the CHD community and inspire continued progress and collaboration to improve outcomes for all those affected by congenital heart disease.
