Innovative Insights into Dengue: Strategies for Global Surveillance, Treatment, and Prevention

Dengue remains one of the world’s most important mosquito-borne viral diseases and continues to expand across endemic and newly affected regions, creating major challenges for public health systems, clinical management, and outbreak preparedness. Its increasing geographic spread, recurrent epidemics, and risk of severe disease highlight the need for coordinated approaches that move beyond single-sector responses. This Research Topic will focus on innovative and multidisciplinary strategies to strengthen the global response to dengue, with particular emphasis on a One Health perspective that recognizes the interconnected roles of human, animal, vector, and environmental factors in disease emergence and control. By bringing together work on mechanisms of disease, prevention, and response, the collection aims to provide a comprehensive resource to support evidence-based dengue control in both endemic and at-risk regions worldwide. To advance our knowledge of dengue infection, transmission, and therapeutic interventions, this collection welcomes articles on the following topics and beyond.• Genomic and molecular surveillance of dengue virus serotypes and lineages during outbreaks• Transmission dynamics in high-risk populations, urban settings, and climate-sensitive regions• Innovative vector control strategies, including novel mosquito control technologies, insecticide resistance monitoring, and integrated approaches to interrupt dengue transmission• Host immune responses, pathogenicity mechanisms, and determinants of severe dengue• Development and evaluation of molecular, antigenic, and serological tools for dengue detection• Progress in antiviral candidates, monoclonal antibodies, and other targeted therapeutic strategies• Vaccine development and integration with dengue control measures• Clinical and laboratory markers associated with disease progression, severity, and patient stratification Topic editors: Selvin Noé Palacios Rápalo, Lívia Sacchetto, Ting-Jing Shen Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/81312/innovative-insights-into-dengue-strategies-for-global-surveillance-treatment-and-prevention
