Integrating Nanotechnology with Plant Compounds: Enhancing Abiotic Stress Resilience and Crop Improvement via Signaling Molecules, Volume II
This Research Topic is the second volume in the series: Nanotechnology and Plant Signaling: Enhancing Crop Resilience to Abiotic Stress. The previous volume can be viewed here: Volume IThe interaction between plant signaling molecules and nanotechnology is advancing new avenues in crop enhancement and stress resilience. This special issue aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how nanomaterials, in conjunction with plant compounds and signaling molecules, can substantially augment plant biochemical and physiological responses to abiotic stress and enhance crop productivity. By highlighting interdisciplinary research that integrates these elements, we underscore the synergistic potential of plant compounds, signaling molecules, and nanomaterials in fostering crop resilience and productivity. This issue offers insights into innovative strategies for sustainable agriculture, inspiring further innovation and practical applications at this critical intersection. This special issue aims to cover a broad range of topics that lie at the intersection of plant physiology, nanotechnology, and abiotic stress resilience. We invite original research articles, reviews, and methodological papers that address, but are not limited to, the following key areas:1. Role of plant compounds in stress resilience: Detailed studies on antioxidants, phytohormones, and secondary metabolites that play critical roles in mitigating oxidative stress and enhancing plant defence mechanisms.2. Signaling molecules in plant stress responses: Exploration of key signaling molecules such as abscisic acid, salicylic acid, jasmonic acid, and ethylene, and their roles in orchestrating plant responses to abiotic stresses.3. Nanoparticle mediated nutrient delivery: Research illustrating how nanoparticles facilitate the targeted delivery of essential nutrients and signaling molecules, thereby improving plant growth and abiotic stress resilience.4. Nanomaterials in modulating hormonal signalling pathways: Insights into how nanomaterials influence hormonal balances and signaling pathways, enhancing the plant's ability to respond to abiotic stress.5. Synergistic Effects of Nanoparticles and Plant Compounds: Examination of the synergistic effects when nanomaterials are combined with plant compounds, leading to enhanced abiotic stress tolerance and crop yields.
