Integrative Multi-Omics Methodologies for Decoding Genetic Pathways and Adaptations
In evolutionary and molecular biology, multi-omics technologies, encompassing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, bring transformative shifts to the analysis of biological systems. By integrating data across these molecular layers, researchers can achieve a detailed understanding of biosynthetic processes and evolutionary mechanisms that drive phenotypic diversity and organismal adaptation. This integrative approach enriches our comprehension of the complex interplay between genes, genomes, and their functional products, bridging significant gaps in our knowledge of how genomes regulate biological functions and interactions. This Research Topic aims to further develop and innovate methods that leverage multi-omics data to explore evolutionary paths and biosynthetic structures. It addresses the technical challenges involved in merging multi-dimensional datasets within genomic assay technology, contributing to methodologies that connect genotype to phenotype. The objective extends to enhancing insights into the genomics of adaptations and functional evolution. To gather further insights in genomics and biosynthesis, we welcome articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:• Advanced integrative techniques to merge multi-omics datasets and extract genomic regulatory pathways.• High-throughput screening and novel instrumentation for characterizing genes, genomes, and their biosynthetic implications.• Computational innovations for multi-omics data analysis, focusing on data storage, management, and accuracy in genotype-phenotype correlations.• Comprehensive biosynthetic pathway analyses, particularly their evolution and relevance in biotechnology and ecological balance.• Novel genomic assays that reveal adaptation mechanisms under environmental stresses, using in vitro or in vivo model systems.Submissions are invited in formats including original research, reviews, and methodological advancements, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue. This endeavor not only strengthens the multi-omics methodological framework but also propels our grasp of genomic assay technologies and their applications in addressing vital global challenges.
