Macrophage and Stem Cell Dynamics in Central Nervous System Injury Repair

In regenerative medicine, macrophages and stem cells play pivotal roles in repairing central nervous system (CNS) injuries. These cells are instrumental due to their ability to switch between pro-inflammatory and reparative roles, which allows them to both mitigate damage and promote healing. Recent advances have demonstrated the potential of integrating macrophage and stem cell therapies to enhance neural regeneration, reduce secondary injuries, and improve overall recovery. However, challenges remain in optimizing these therapeutic strategies to maximize their effectiveness and ensure safe, long-term clinical outcomes.This Research Topic aims to explore the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying macrophage and stem cell interactions in the context of CNS injury repair. By focusing on such interactions, the goal is to develop more effective therapeutic interventions that can be translated into clinical settings.
