Multimodal Brain Data Integration and Computational Modeling: Volume II
Building on the success of Volume I (https://shorturl.at/VvrIc),this second volume aims to consolidate the latest methodological and translational advances in multimodal brain data science. The integration of neuroimaging modalities such as fMRI, EEG, PET, and MEG with genetic, behavioural, and clinical data continues to generate new opportunities for understanding brain function in health and disease. Since Volume I, the landscape has shifted considerably: large-scale foundation models and generative AI are reshaping how we represent and analyse brain data; federated and privacy-preserving learning approaches are enabling collaboration across institutions without sharing raw data; and digital brain twins are beginning to move from concept to clinical prototype. This Research Topic aims to consolidate these emerging directions and connect them to practical outcomes in cognitive and clinical neuroscience. We welcome contributions that address open challenges in scalability, interpretability, and clinical translation of multimodal brain models.Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:•Foundation models and large language models applied to multimodal brain data.• Generative models for brain signal synthesis, augmentation, and imputation.•Federated and privacy-preserving learning across neuroimaging datasets.• Causal inference and explainability in multimodal brain models. Digital brain twins and personalised computational models for clinical use.• Real-time multimodal integration for brain-computer interfaces and closed-loop neurostimulation.• Transfer learning and domain adaptation across imaging modalities and populations.• Multimodal biomarker discovery for neurological and psychiatric disorders.• Benchmarking frameworks and open datasets for multimodal brain data science. We welcome Original Research, Reviews, Mini Reviews, Methods, Perspectives, Brief Research Reports, and FAIR² Data articles.
