Nanofluid Transport and Thermal Management in Microfluidic Systems
Microfluidic systems are increasingly used in medical diagnostics, sensing, chemical analysis, and other lab on a chip applications where precise fluid transport and thermal regulation are critical to device performance. Nanofluids and hybrid nanofluids have emerged as promising working media for enhancing transport behavior in confined systems, offering new opportunities for improved heat dissipation, mixing, and multifunctional performance in microchannels and miniaturized fluidic platforms. At the same time, important challenges remain in understanding nanofluid behaviour under the coupled conditions that define real microfluidic systems, including non Newtonian rheology, magnetic and electrokinetic actuation, porous and structured geometries, and microscale heat and mass transfer. While these themes are active individually, there is not yet a dedicated collection in the journal focused on bringing them together in the context of microfluidic systems. This Research Topic would welcome contributions including, but not limited to:• Nanofluid and hybrid nanofluid transport in microchannels and miniaturized systems• Thermal management and heat transfer enhancement in lab on a chip devices• Magnetically controlled and electrokinetic microflows• Non Newtonian nanofluid behaviour in confined geometries• Coupled heat and mass transfer in microfluidic platforms• Entropy generation and thermodynamic optimisation in microscale systems• Porous media and structured channel effects• Computational, numerical, and experimental studies relevant to microfluidic applications Topic editors: Fateh Mebarek-Oudina, Dr Ganesh Kumar K Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/80789/nanofluid-transport-and-thermal-management-in-microfluidic-systems
