Nutritional Strategies in Insulin Resistance: From Mechanisms to Clinical Applications

Insulin resistance (IR) is a crucial factor in metabolic disorders like non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which significantly impact global health. Despite increasing awareness, these conditions proliferate, highlighting the urgent need for effective dietary interventions and an enhanced mechanistic understanding to efficiently inform clinical strategies. Current research focuses on how dietary components and patterns influence various molecular, cellular, and systemic aspects of IR, but gaps remain in fully comprehending these relationships. To navigate and further understand this, deeper exploration of the role of dietary intervention in IR is essential. This Research Topic aims to investigate the multifaceted interplay between dietary factors and insulin resistance, emphasizing innovative interventions that target precise mechanisms. The Research Topic seeks to shed light on the roles of macronutrient composition, micronutrient modulation, dietary timing, and the potential of novel interventions targeting liver-specific signaling pathways and androgen regulation. The goal is to bridge the gap between groundbreaking experimental findings and pragmatic clinical applications, ultimately translating scientific insights into impactful real-world strategies for managing IR.In addition to scientific rigor, this issue seeks to highlight translational approaches, bridging experimental findings with real-world applications. Submissions are encouraged that address:● The mechanistic interplay between dietary factors and IR.● Innovative dietary approaches for NAFLD and PCOS.● Intersectional health disparities in access to nutritional interventions.● Case studies and clinical trials on personalized dietary plans for IR management. This special issue invites original research, reviews, and perspectives that advance our understanding of dietary strategies to combat insulin resistance, with the goal of bridging fundamental science with impactful clinical practice Topic editors: Stanley Andrisse, Miaoyun Zhao, Heidi Vanden Brink, Gianfranca Carta Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/70645/nutritional-strategies-in-insulin-resistance-from-mechanisms-to-clinical-applications
