Open and FAIR Data in Neuroscience, Volume II
The first volume of Open and FAIR Data in Neuroscience brought together contributions showing how findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable data practices are reshaping the way neuroscience is conducted and shared. It closed with a strong body of work and wide readership, reflecting how central data stewardship has become to the field.Since the first volume, the growing use of machine learning and large scale models in neuroscience has made FAIR and AI ready data more pressing, raising fresh questions about data provenance, governance and reproducibility that this volume will take forward.Building on Volume I, this collection seeks computational and informatics driven work with clear neuroscience application. We welcome original research, reviews, mini reviews, systematic reviews, methods, technology and code, perspectives, data reports, hypothesis and theory, and brief research reports addressing, but not limited to:FAIR data principles applied to neuroscience datasets, workflows and pipelines.Standards, ontologies and metadata for interoperability across modalities.Data provenance, quality and governance in neuroinformatics tools and workflows.Reproducibility, replicability and validation of computational analyses, including validation of studies using public data.AI ready and machine actionable data for training and evaluating models.Platforms, tools and infrastructures that enable open and FAIR data sharing, including deposition in repositories such as EBRAINS, NeuroMorpho.org and G-Node.Ethical, legal and governance frameworks for data sharing, applied to neuroinformatics resources and practice.Community practices, incentives and training that support open and FAIR data in neuroscience.Together, these contributions aim to deepen understanding of how open and FAIR data can accelerate discovery while keeping neuroscience rigorous, transparent and reusable.
