Precision and Minimally Invasive Surgery in Children with Gastrointestinal Malformations
Gastrointestinal malformations are common congenital disorders in children, encompassing multiple types that often impact adversely on the health, life, and growth of those children. Traditional diagnostic and therapeutic approaches face limitations such as imprecise preoperative diagnosis, greater negative effects of open surgery, and frequent postoperative complications. Together, these impose heavy physical, psychological, and financial burdens on patients and their families. With advances in precision medicine and minimally invasive techniques, clinical demands for enhanced accuracy and safety in diagnosis and treatment have grown. Conducting relevant research has become essential to address these traditional challenges and elevate clinical standards, holding significant importance for improving patient outcomes and alleviating the burden of medical care.GoalThe core objectives of this research topic are to address the limitations of conventional surgical diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, establish protocols for precision medicine technologies in diagnosing anomalies, optimize minimally invasive surgical strategies, enhance diagnostic accuracy and safety, reduce postoperative complication rates, improve patient outcomes, and provide practical evidence for standardized, precision-guided minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal anomalies in children.Scope and Information for Authors● Application protocols and efficacy validation of precision medicine technologies (such as 3D reconstruction or genetic testing) in preoperative diagnosis of gastrointestinal anomalies in children.● Optimization of individualized minimally invasive surgical strategies for different types of gastrointestinal anomalies in children.● Specific mechanisms of precision minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic models in enhancing accuracy and safety for gastrointestinal malformations in children.● Development of clinical pathways incorporating precision minimally invasive concepts to reduce postoperative complication rates in gastrointestinal malformations in children.● Establishment and practice-based refinement of standardized precision minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic workflows for gastrointestinal malformations in children.● In addition to common digestive tract malformations, it may also cover the minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of common general surgical diseases such as appendicitis, intussusception, indirect inguinal hernia, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, intestinal polyps, and intestinal obstruction.
