Precision Eradication of Helicobacter pylori: Resistance, Diagnostics, and Personalized Therapy
Helicobacter pylori infection remains one of the most important infectious diseases worldwide, affecting nearly half of the global population and serving as a major cause of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma, and gastric cancer. Although eradication therapy has substantially reduced disease burden, treatment success is increasingly threatened by rising antimicrobial resistance, suboptimal adherence, regional differences in antibiotic susceptibility, and considerable heterogeneity in host and bacterial factors. These challenges underscore the urgent need for more effective, evidence-based, and personalized eradication strategies.Recent advances in molecular diagnostics, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, genomic technologies, and biomarker discovery have accelerated the development of precision eradication regimens tailored to bacterial resistance patterns and patient-specific characteristics. This collection aims to highlight cutting-edge research that advances our understanding and management of H. pylori infection. We welcome contributions addressing novel therapeutic approaches, antimicrobial susceptibility-guided therapy, precision medicine, treatment optimization, antimicrobial stewardship, innovative diagnostic tools, host-pathogen interactions, and other emerging aspects of H. pylori infection and therapy.Find hereby a list of welcoming submission themes, but not limited to:- Novel and emerging therapeutic approaches for H. pylori eradication- Antimicrobial susceptibility-guided and resistance-tailored therapy- Precision medicine and personalized eradication strategies- Treatment optimization, adherence, and regimen sequencing- Antimicrobial stewardship and strategies to curb resistance- Innovative and non-invasive diagnostic tools for detection and monitoring- Molecular diagnostics, genomic and next-generation sequencing technologies- Host-pathogen interactions and immune response to infection- Biomarker discovery for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response- Epidemiology and regional variation in antibiotic resistance patterns- Gut microbiome alterations related to infection and eradication therapy- Long-term outcomes, including progression to gastric cancer and MALT lymphoma- Real-world evidence and clinical trial data on eradication regimens- Artificial intelligence and predictive modeling in H. pylori managementWe warmly invite leading scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers from around the world to submit original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, clinical trials, and expert perspectives.
