Precision Medicine in Cardiology: Genomic, Multiomic, and AI-Driven Advances in Cardiovascular Care
Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality in the United States, yet conventional diagnostic and therapeutic approaches often fail to account for the molecular complexity underlying individual disease trajectories. Precision cardiovascular medicine is reshaping this landscape by integrating multidimensional data—including genetic, genomic, proteomic, and clinical information—to enable more refined disease classification, risk stratification, and individualized treatment planning. Despite considerable progress, challenges remain in translating these innovations into routine clinical practice, including gaps in predictive modeling accuracy, limited real-world validation, and the need for scalable data integration frameworks. This Research Topic aims to advance precision cardiovascular medicine by exploring how genomic, multiomic, and artificial intelligence–driven insights can transform the diagnosis, risk assessment, and management of cardiovascular disease. It seeks to highlight novel diagnostic tools, computational models, and therapeutic strategies tailored to individual patient profiles. Central questions include: How do genetic and molecular factors shape cardiovascular risk and disease progression? Can AI and machine learning reliably stratify patients for targeted intervention? What are the most promising translational strategies for moving precision approaches from bench to bedside? We welcome submissions addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:• Genetic and genomic determinants of cardiovascular disease• Polygenic risk scoring and precision risk stratification• Innovative cardiovascular imaging and diagnostic techniques• AI and machine learning approaches to cardiovascular prediction and decision support• Experimental and computational cardiology models• Integration of pharmacogenomics, functional genomics, and multiomics• Clinical applications of gene therapy, cell therapy, and biomarker panels• Data-driven drug repurposing and high-throughput discovery• Real-world evidence and translational studies in precision cardiologyWe welcome Original Research articles, Comprehensive Reviews, Mini-reviews, Clinical Studies, Methodology articles, Case Reports, and Perspectives.Dr. Vishal Arora is a Consultant at Boston Scientific Topic editors: Surendra Rajpurohit, Vishal Arora, Bhupesh Singla Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/80340/precision-medicine-in-cardiology-genomic-multiomic-and-ai-driven-advances-in-cardiovascular-care
