Professional Cognitive Modelling for Dependability in Built Environment

The persistent need for and the pursuit of dependability across subject areas in built management sustain excellence in professional practices and continuous professional learning and development. This research topic and its collections aim to foster profound interdisciplinary studies on challenging issues regarding, for example, construability and reliability in the engineering domain and productivity and supportability in the management domain. Articles in this topical collection incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into cognitive modelling for dependability related problems solving at single and multiple work stages in built environment projects cycle. The editors of this research topic welcome authors with specialty interests in related subject areas and ambition to generate new knowledge and/or solutions to inform academic research and professional practices. The scope of this research topic covers all issues relating to the dependability of professional activities in the subject field of built environment. Issues covered by this research topic could be connected to, but are not limited to, the following listed areas:- AI powered sourcing and procurement in major built environment projects.- AI integrated cognitive models for risks analysis and simulation in BIM pervasive major projects delivery.- AI assisted Cognitive Task Analysis (CTA) and decision making support at individual work stages including planning, design, construction, operation, and/or maintenance, etc. - AI aided prediction and simulation of cognitive errors and failures against dependability at strategic, tactical, and/or operational levels. - AI driven cognitive modelling for optimization and/or optioneering on workforces, products, processes, resources, and/or the project environment. - Evidence and scenario based approaches to professional cognitive modelling for dependability enhancement.- The body of knowledge for professional cognitive modelling in built environment.
