Quantitative Mapping of Organelle Networks

The spatial organization and functional connectivity of organelle networks underpin fundamental cellular activities, from basic metabolism to complex signal transduction. Resolving how these interconnected structures are coordinated requires a systematic approach. Recent advances in high-throughput microscopy, live-cell imaging, and quantitative analysis now provide the resolution needed to map organelle dynamics, membrane traffic pathways, and inter-organelle communication at an unprecedented scale. This Research Topic welcomes contributions that apply quantitative, imaging-based, and screening methodologies to characterize the architecture and coordination of cellular organelles. We encourage studies utilizing automated high-content microscopy, computational image analysis, and structural biology to explore how organelle networks are maintained and remodelled in health and disease. Submissions may include original research, methods papers, and reviews covering:Quantitative and high-content imaging approaches for mapping organelle morphology, positioning, and network dynamicsMembrane trafficking pathways and their role in organelle network organizationOrganelle contact sites, membrane fusion, and inter-organelle communicationMachine learning, automated image analysis pipelines, and computational phenotyping of organelle networksDynamics of organelle biogenesis, degradation, and functional remodeling Topic editors: Jeremy C Simpson, Christian Hacker, Christian Mühlfeld Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/86225/quantitative-mapping-of-organelle-networks
