Racial (ethnicity) and Biological (Sex/Gender) disparities in various Malignancies and its effect on Mortality

Previous studies have highlighted racial and ethnic disparities in cancer incidence, yet limited attention, and a paucity of data, has been given to understanding how these disparities intersect with mortality and/or effect access to healthcare. This Research Topic aims to address a gap in cancer literature namely—racial and ethnic disparities in cancer on mortality, and explore the impact of different biological, racial and ethnic groups effect on mortality across various malignancies. We hypothesize the findings will support precision oncology approaches that integrate biomarker profiles and demographic factors, while underscoring the importance of including diverse populations in clinical research to address healthcare inequities and improve outcomes for all cancer patients. To gather further insights in the domain of racial and ethnic disparities in cancer mortality, we welcome Original Research, both retrospective and prospective, as well as Mini Review articles addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:• Analysis of racial and ethnic disparities in cancer mortality• Impact of biological factors combined with demographics on cancer outcomes• Strategies for integrating biomarker profiles with demographic data• Case studies on breast, colorectal, pancreatic, and hematologic malignancies• Discussions on the importance of diversity in clinical researchTopic Editor Dr. Aditi Bhargava is the Founder and CEO of Aseesa Inc., and holds stocks in the company.
