Reviews in Exoplanets

The study of exoplanets began in 1995, only 30 years ago. Yet today, exoplanet research touches every aspect of ground-based and space-based astronomy and has attracted many hundreds of astronomers from around the world. Exoplanet research is truly a diverse area of study with participants in every career stage, from a large collection of countries, and from a wide variety of educations and research facilities. Given the meteoritic rise in exoplanet publications, observational and theoretical studies, and the tremendous amount of publicly available archival data and software, keeping pace with the field can be a staggering prospect. With this paper collection, the Exoplanets section of Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Science plans to put together a number of review papers covering the broad field of exoplanet research. Review papers are solicited on the topics of, but not limited to, observational work (spectroscopy, photometry, high-resolution imaging, etc.), theoretical work (dynamics of exosystems, formation models, planet formation, orbital migration, etc.), planetary properties (radii, masses, composition, etc.), host star properties (ages, metalicity, multiplicity, etc.), planet-star interactions (magnetic fields, habitability, tical locking, etc.), free floating planets, planet detection techniques (transits, radial velocities, microlensing, etc.), and exomoons. It is anticipated that this collection of review papers authored by world leading experts will be a widely useful and valuable summary of the current field of exoplanets.Review papers should follow the standard author guidelines, be at most 15,000 words pages in length (excluding bibliography), and should rigorously review their specific topic covering the past 10-30 years. Topic editors: Steve B Howell, Davd Ciardi, Peter Plavchan, Xu Huang Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/80961/reviews-in-exoplanets
