Rising Stars in Air Quality and Health: 2026

Recognizing the next generation of environmental health leaders is essential to sustaining innovation and advancing the field. This collection showcases the high-quality work of international researchers in the early stages of their careers. We aim to highlight research by leading scientists of the future across the entire breadth of Air Quality and Health, and present advances in theory, experiment, and methodology with applications to compelling problems.A Rising Star is typically an early‑career researcher — within 10  years of their highest degree or someone who considers themselves early career due to life circumstances — who is building an independent career through research, funding, and publication. Submissions are open to all lead or corresponding authors meeting this criterion, including postdoctoral researchers, assistant professors, lecturers, and other emerging scientists advancing the field of air quality and health. Through this collection, we aim to celebrate emerging voices driving innovation in the field — and offer readers a look at the future leaders shaping environmental health research worldwide.
