Theranostics and Resilience in Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is undergoing a remarkable transformation, driven by advances in molecular imaging, targeted radionuclide therapy, and personalized medicine. Theranostics, integrating diagnostic and therapeutic approaches through molecular targeting, has emerged as a cornerstone of clinical medicine today, offering opportunities for individualized patient management and improved clinical outcomes. At the same time, resilience has become an essential aspect of nuclear medicine, reflecting the ability of the field, the health care team and our patients to adapt to technological advances, evolving demands, and challenges related to radiopharmaceutical availability, healthcare resources, equitable access to care and the mental health to support innovative treatments. This Research Topic aims to highlight recent advances in theranostics while exploring strategies to strengthen the resilience, sustainability, and accessibility of nuclear medicine. Contributions addressing innovative radiopharmaceuticals, molecular imaging, targeted radionuclide therapies, personalized dosimetry, artificial intelligence, and multidisciplinary collaboration are particularly encouraged. By bringing together scientific innovation and clinical experience, this collection seeks to support the continued evolution of nuclear medicine and its expanding role in patient-centered care.
