Thought Leaders in Coatings, Dyes and Interface Engineering Research

Thought Leaders in Coatings, Dyes and Interface Engineering Research will explore cutting-edge and conventional as well as emerging techniques used to image engineering interfaces (i.e., the boundaries where different materials, components, or phases meet), particularly at the micro- to nanoscale. It will highlight research that is pushing the boundaries of how interfaces are visualized and analyzed, spanning relevant length scales across coatings, dyes and pigments, and interface engineering. Both in-situ/operando and ex-situ techniques are in scope. Papers relevant to any section of Coatings, Dyes and Interface Engineering are therefore very welcome.Papers on the topics below are particularly welcome:- 4D Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (4D-STEM)- Atomic Electron Tomography (AET)- Phase imaging techniques in STEM (e.g., electron ptychography, differential phase contrast)- Thermography- AI-STEM for automated interface detection- Machine learning for tomography reconstruction- Coherent Diffraction Imaging (CDI)- Phase-Sensitive Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) Imaging Reflectometry- Piezoresponse Force Microscopy (PFM)- Coherent X-ray diffraction (e.g., synchrotron-based methods)- Operando and in-situ X-ray tomography and laminography- Quantum diamond scanners (Qu-MRI)- Correlative approaches (e.g., combined X-ray CT + SEM + TEM, or microscopy with spectroscopy such as EDS/EELS) to link structure, chemistry, and function across scales- Terahertz imaging to evaluate degradation and interfacial strength in real time- Acoustic emission sensing of interfaces Topic editors: Robert Wood, Phitsanu Poolcharuansin, Rajesh Kumar Ulaganathan Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/78708/thought-leaders-in-coatings-dyes-and-interface-engineering-research
