Update in Nuclear Endocrinology

Endocrinology is the study of hormones and the endocrine glands that are responsible for maintaining homeostasis in the human body. Currently, there is an increasing interest about the diagnostic and therapeutic applications of nuclear medicine in endocrine disorders, including thyroid diseases, parathyroid diseases, adrenal gland and pituitary diseases and neuroendocrine diseases.The aim of this Research Topic is to collect original or review articles that could provide an update on the applications of nuclear medicine in endocrine disorders as this is a medical field in expansion as discussed in a recent dedicated Symposium on nuclear endocrinology at the University of Lugano (Switzerland).This Research Topic should collect articles focused on diagnostic imaging or therapy using radiopharmaceuticals in endocrine disorders. The target conditions of interest are: thyroid diseases, parathyroid diseases, adrenal gland diseases, pituitary diseases, neuroendocrine tumors or other endocrine disorders. Contributions on hybrid imaging in endocrine diseases are also welcome. Different types of manuscript are accepted including case reports, original articles and review articles.
