Updates on the Management of Glioblastoma Volume II
Glioblastoma (GBM) remains the most common malignant primary brain tumor in adults and is associated with profound neurologic morbidity and a poor overall prognosis despite multimodal therapy. While maximal safe resection followed by radiotherapy and temozolomide remains the cornerstone of care, GBM’s intratumoral heterogeneity, adaptive resistance mechanisms, and the complex, dynamic tumor microenvironment continue to limit durable responses and complicate translation of promising preclinical findings into clinical benefit. Building on the success of the first volume of Updates on the management of Glioblastoma (17 articles spanning clinical and translational perspectives), this second volume aims to capture the next wave of actionable advances—spanning refined diagnostics and response assessment, emerging therapeutic strategies, and improved supportive care across the patient journey. This volume also welcomes pre-clinical studies with direct implications to GBM diagnostics and treatment. For bioinformatics/in silico studies (including candidate biomarkers), submissions must include independent validation in clinical samples and/or functional validation in at least two recognized glioblastoma cell lines (in vitro and/or in vivo), consistent with the standards set in Volume I. Pre-clinical studies must include GBM patient-derived models or in vivo models and meet standards for statistical evaluation.
