Waveform Design and Interference Engineering for Integrated Sensing and Communications in 6G Systems

The convergence of sensing and communications within a unified radio framework represents one of the defining challenges of 6G system design. Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) demands a fundamental rethinking of waveform architecture, spectral resource management, and interference coordination — moving beyond the traditional separation of radar and communication functions toward systems that perform both with high efficiency and low overhead.This Research Topic brings together advances at the intersection of waveform design, transform-domain signal processing, and joint communication-sensing-localization frameworks. Particular emphasis is placed on delay-Doppler domain approaches, OTFS-type systems, and interference engineering strategies that are robust under the dynamic, high-mobility conditions anticipated in 6G deployments.
