Women’s Pelvic Health

Pelvic health is a cornerstone of women’s overall well-being and quality of life, yet it remains underrecognized across the lifespan. With age, conditions such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic pelvic pain, functional constipation, and postpartum dysfunction become highly prevalent, often leading to significant physical and psychosocial burdens. Despite this, many women delay seeking care due to stigma, lack of awareness, or limited access to specialized services. Advances in rehabilitation, medical interventions, and digital health solutions offer promising opportunities to address these challenges. Importantly, the integration of multidisciplinary perspectives is essential to advance the field. By fostering dialogue and disseminating new evidence, this Research Topic seeks to highlight innovative approaches in women’s pelvic health on a global scale. The goal of this Research Topic is to advance understanding, awareness, and management of women’s pelvic health by bridging clinical, research, and policy gaps. We aim to provide a platform for interdisciplinary contributions that address the biological, functional, psychosocial, and cultural aspects of pelvic health. Specifically, we seek to encourage studies that highlight innovative diagnostics, prevention strategies, therapeutic interventions, and health service models that improve quality of life and equity of care. By bringing together experts from diverse disciplines and geographic regions, this collection will inform more inclusive and effective practices. Ultimately, this initiative aspires to foster evidence-based solutions that can transform clinical care, rehabilitation practices, and health policy worldwide.Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:• Prevalence, risk factors, and prevention strategies for pelvic floor conditions across women’s lifespan• Advances in conservative management: pelvic floor muscle training, physiotherapy, therapeutic modalities, behavioral and lifestyle interventions• Psychosocial aspects of pelvic floor disorders and approaches to improve quality of life• Digital health, telemedicine, and eHealth technologies for pelvic floor assessment and rehabilitation• Cross-cultural perspectives and global health disparities in access to pelvic health care• Interdisciplinary and integrative approaches to optimize diagnosis, treatment, and long-term outcomes• Application of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) framework to guide assessment and interventions for pelvic floor conditions Topic editors: Jie Hao, Peng Fan, Zixuan Yao, Bernhard Liedl Source: https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/74279/womens-pelvic-health
