Stem Cell Omics, Senescence, and Precision Therapeutics in Aging and Cancer

Aging is a fundamental biological process underlying the development of numerous chronic diseases, including cancer, neurodegeneration, cardiovascular dysfunction, metabolic disorders, and tissue degeneration. Growing evidence demonstrates that cellular senescence, stem cell exhaustion, epigenetic remodeling, immune dysregulation, and microenvironmental alterations collectively drive both aging-associated pathologies and tumor progression.Recent advances in stem cell biology, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), single-cell sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, artificial intelligence, and multi-omics integration have revolutionized our understanding of aging mechanisms and opened new opportunities for precision therapeutics and regenerative oncology.Importantly, the intersection of aging and cancer has emerged as a rapidly evolving field, where stem cell dynamics and senescence-associated pathways critically influence tissue regeneration, tumor evolution, immune escape, therapeutic resistance, and disease progression. Integrating omics-driven computational approaches with stem cell research is therefore essential for developing next-generation therapeutic strategies targeting aging-associated diseases and cancer. This Research Topic aims to provide a multidisciplinary platform for cutting-edge original research articles, reviews, perspectives, and computational studies addressing the molecular, translational, and clinical dimensions of stem cell-based interventions in aging and cancer. We welcome submissions covering, but not limited to, the following themes:1.
