About the journal

Scope

The journal welcomes research on contemporary telecommunications systems and networks across wired and wireless domains. Contributions may be theoretical, computational, experimental, or application-oriented.

Topics within scope include:

  • Aerial and space networks
  • Antennas and microwave theory
  • Communication systems and communications theory
  • Coding and information theory
  • Data science and artificial intelligence for communications
  • Internet of Things and sensor networks
  • Network architecture, optimization, and performance evaluation
  • Optical communications and networks
  • Security, privacy, and authentication
  • Signal processing for communications
  • Smart grid communications
  • Wireless, wired, and ad hoc networks
  • Emerging and non-conventional communications, including underwater, underground, molecular, and nanoscale systems

Research should demonstrate a clear contribution to communication processes, telecommunications systems, or network technologies. Manuscripts that do not emphasize communication processes and communication systems are outside the journal's stated scope.

Aims

1. To advance research in wired and wireless communication systems and network technologies.

2. To promote innovation in communication theory, signal processing, information theory, and coding.

3. To support the development of secure, reliable, scalable, and efficient telecommunications networks.

4. To encourage research on IoT, sensor networks, optical communications, aerial networks, and space communications.

5. To promote data-driven approaches to communication system design and performance evaluation.

6. To encourage experimental validation, practical demonstrations, and reproducible engineering research.

7. To foster international collaboration among researchers, engineers, telecommunications providers, and industry professionals.

8. To disseminate research that contributes to industry innovation and infrastructure, including Sustainable Development Goal 9.
