The journal's scope includes:

  • Aging, epidemiology, and modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors for dementia.
  • Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.
  • Cellular and molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration.
  • Genetics, genomics, and molecular biomarkers.
  • Neuroimaging, diagnostic tools, and cognitive assessment.
  • Early detection, differential diagnosis, and disease progression.
  • Dementia prevention, risk reduction, and healthy cognitive aging.
  • Clinical research, therapeutic development, and translational medicine.
  • Dementia care, rehabilitation, psychosocial interventions, and support for caregivers.
  • Health services, care systems, policy, ethics, and quality of life.
  • Clinical trials, research methods, study protocols, and systematic evidence synthesis.
  • Emerging technologies and innovative approaches to dementia research and management.

The journal prioritizes scientifically rigorous work that advances understanding of dementia and contributes to improved prevention, diagnosis, treatment, care, and public health outcomes.

Aims

The main objectives of Frontiers in Dementia are:

1. To advance scientific knowledge of dementia and related cognitive disorders. 2. To promote research into the biological, genetic, molecular, and neurological mechanisms underlying dementia. 3. To improve early detection, diagnosis, risk prediction, and clinical assessment. 4. To encourage the development and validation of biomarkers, imaging techniques, and diagnostic technologies. 5. To support research on dementia prevention, risk reduction, and healthy aging. 6. To facilitate the translation of laboratory discoveries into clinical practice. 7. To promote evidence-based care, rehabilitation, and support for people living with dementia and their caregivers. 8. To encourage interdisciplinary and international collaboration. 9. To disseminate reliable research through transparent peer review and open-access publication. 10.
